American adults waste an average of 2.9 hours daily, up to approximately 20 hours per week. Imagine having this much free time and deciding to waste it.

With that time you could’ve read a whole book and worked out three times (per week). But, instead of becoming smarter and fitter within this tiny time frame, most of us decide to relax and scroll through an endless feed of forgettable content that won’t make anything better other than deteriorating our focus and mental capacity.

Phones are the Enemy

They create distractions out of nothing—Social Media in particular.

You go from having nothing on your mind to suddenly noticing a million other things to do or check, all to realize all you did was empty time-wasting.

Plus, the more you use your phone, the worse your focus gets. It slowly habituates your brain to fluctuating emotions and inconsistent absorption; you go from one video to the next, each taking you on a different biological journey.

It’s like taking one bite from every dish in the buffet — Good luck in the bathroom.
