On a bright sunny morning, amidst the bustling streets of Mumbai, she waited patiently for an autorickshaw to take her to the office. Suddenly, a friendly tap on her back and a soft murmur caught her attention. Turning around, she saw a middle-aged lady, clad in a saree, her oiled hair neatly tied in a plait that almost touched her waist, striding ahead, likely on her way to catch a train.

It took her a moment to grasp what the woman had murmured hurriedly — her bra strap was showing, and the lady had quietly helped her tuck it in. Initially, the independent feminist voice within her protested, questioning the importance of such a trivial matter.

But as she settled into the auto, she couldn’t shake off the feeling of gratitude towards the stranger’s kindness. Despite her initial resistance, she found herself contemplating the woman’s motivation for helping a stranger.

As time passed, she found herself viewing the situation from a different perspective. While they may have differed in their ideologies, she couldn’t ignore the sincerity behind the woman’s act of kindness. It made her realize the significance of reaching out to others, regardless of their differences.

Choosing to pen down her thoughts, she couldn’t help but notice her bra strap still showing. With a newfound acceptance, she tucked it discreetly, knowing it might peek out again soon, yet feeling unaffected by it.
