Tipping (Beta) — I Just Discovered A New Tool! Will I Be Able To Finally Earn Through Medium?

Hello, fellow writers! This Sunday afternoon, as I logged into my medium account, I saw an article by
, founder of the “New Writers Welcome” publication, that he found a new “Tipping feature” in his account settings. I was confused at first. But I found out later that it’s a new feature called “Reward the writer” that has been added by Medium for writers to get “tipped” for their work.Simple as that? I know!!

But What Happened To Me?
As soon as I read about it, I was like, What did I just see? New feature? Is there also an MPP payment alternative? I literally got goosebumps. I was so happy that I didn’t read the whole article but went curious about it, so I had to go to settings to check myself.
I just wanted to see Stripe’s alternative in the settings! 😁
That’s Cool, I mean, I was curious, so I clicked on settings and checked myself. While I prayed, “please God, let me also see an alternative option somewhere in the settings that could help writers to join MPP from non-stripe countries.”
And the moment I saw this feature, my mind went numb, and my eyes were reading the word “T I P P I N G,” but my brain was telling me that it means “Medium Partner Program.” 🤣 I was like, Omg! Will I be able to now earn through Medium (finally)?

Jokes apart! “Tipping (Beta) tool is in the audience development section of your medium account settings.” I went on reading with the details that are only meant to tip your fav writers using this tool.
Hell No — As soon as I came back to my senses, I understood — It’s time for me to wake up and start living with the same shit again. 😂 And I was heartbroken. 🙃
The New Feature
This new feature permits you to add a link to your own preferred payment platform to this tool. Be it a Coffee page, Patreon, or a Paypal account or anything.
That is it, time to get back to normal. I don’t think that I need to be happier. I mean, I have already embedded my coffee page link (which in my case, is a chai page) to almost all of my Medium stories.
Okay! There’s no big deal if Medium lets me share it twice on all the articles.
All I Want From Medium Is
I want Medium to let me into the Partner Program. Instead of making me eligible to add my Paypal account to Medium’s so-called tipping tool. I want Medium to actually add Paypal as an alternative payment method for non-stripe country residents.
“If only Medium really wants us to make some money.”
Anyway, I’m not here to do bitching, guys. Peace! ✌️
