Once the most wanted hacker in the world, Kevin Mitnick is undoubtedly one of the most notorious hackers ever.

My primary goal of hacking was the intellectual curiosity, the seduction of adventure — Kevin Mitnick.

Chapter 1

Free Bus Rides(1975)

At 12, Kevin bypassed the Los Angeles Bus Service punchcard system using a social engineering attack on a friendly driver who told Kevin where he could get his ticket punch.

He could then board any bus within the city’s greater area using unused transfer slips, which he picked from the trash.

The Dare to Hack(1979)

Kevin’s friends from a group of hackers dared him to hack an organization called The Ark, owned by the Digital Equipment Corporation(DEC) at the age of 16.

Using a name and phone number from one of his ‘friends,’ he called the company’s systems administrator. He used social engineering and pretended to be one of the project’s lead developers to obtain credentials for the system.
