Transience
A Poem

& the face the body
the nerves
all blur as the image in the mirror
begins to walk away
Captured
for all of a second
then sent into the tower of time
to answer for the body’s
betrayal
The hope of movement
now further now closer
a shifting horizon
an unsteady plate
a hill with every grade
Bought into the failure of the precipice
the inordinate exchange
of footsteps for the seat
the trial begins by showing
what happened
in the middle
