A survey of 154 scholars, mostly connected to the American Political Science Association, placed Trump as the worst president ever. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Here’s a little presidential history for all of you who think Trump is the worst president ever.

  1. Franklin Pierce- signed into law the Kansas-Nebraska Act, which allowed residents of new territories to decide on the legality of slavery for themselves. I’m sure they were outraged at the thought of being able to own slaves. Right.
  2. John Tyler- a strong advocate for state’s rights, including slavery. Was there any other reason to support state’s rights for any other reason than to protect slavery? Oh, and he also joined the Southern Confederacy.
  3. Millard Fillmore- signed the Fugitive Slave Act, which returned runaway slaves to their enslavers.
  4. Zachary Taylor- Slaveowner. Believed that states could manage slavery on their own. Hmmm, slave states were to be trusted as being good stewards of managing slavery laws on their own? Who would’ve known?
  5. Chester A. Arthur- His immigration law excluded Chinese people as well as “paupers, criminals and lunatics.” Okay, that sounds like Trump. Let’s scratch that one.
  6. Rutherford B. Hayes- President from 1887 to 1891. He hoped that Southern states would be a “wise, honest and peaceful self-government” in regards to Black people. Hahaha. Riiiight.
  7. Woodrow Wilson- In 1915, Wilson watched a special screening of the film “The Birth of a Nation.” If you’ve never seen this film, it is the most racist, reprehensible movie ever made. It was an inspiration for the rebirth of the Klu Klux Klan. Wilson remarked, “It’s like writing history with lightning. My only regret is that it is all so terribly true.”
  8. George Washington- slave owner. Used the teeth of his slaves to replace his own rotten teeth.
  9. Thomas Jefferson- slave owner. Fathered several children with his slave Sally Hemings. As a slave, do you really think she could have told Jefferson “I’m not feeling it whitey?”
  10. James Madison- slave owner. Opposed any attempts to restrict its domestic expansion.
  11. James Monroe- condemned slavery, but still owned slaves. I condemn Jeff Bezos, but for some reason, Amazon packages keep showing up at my door. I can totally relate.
  12. Andrew Jackson- slave trader. Gained passage of the Indian Removal Act of 1830. It authorized the government to extinguish any Native American title to land claims in the Southeastern portion of the country. They were made to walk hundreds of miles to be resettled. It was known as the Trail of Tears in which 15,000 Native Americans lost their life.
  13. William Henry Harrison- unsuccessfully lobbied Congress to legalize slavery in Indiana. Do these pro-slavery individuals have any job skills at all?
  14. James K. Polk- supported the rights of slave owners.
  15. George W. Bush- worse than Trump? That’s a toss-up. Iraq. Waterboarding. War crimes as documented by Julian Assange. Destroyed the economy. Where do you dear readers, compare Bush and Trump and why?

Is Trump a great president? Not by a mile. But, please, worst ever? And please don’t say that Trump would have been just as bad had he lived back then. We’re not talking about hypotheticals. The question is, is he the worst president ever? No. Is he a great president? No. Is he a good president? No. He’s pure chaos. But, as I said, he is certainly not the worst. And I promise you, you don’t want to take a time machine to prove me wrong. I don’t write history books, people, I just read them. Don’t shoot the messenger.
