Turn towards the sun

Photo by Jonathan Borba on Unsplash

Look towards the West and wish
Old paradigms persist,
In spite of what the world becomes
We carry on like this.

Hurry from your rented life
Towards borrowed salvation,
Stay asleep and chase the dream
Or wake to devastation.

Dare to turn towards the sun
They said you’d all go blind,
The shadows want to hypnotise
They fear what you might find.
