The quiet power of gratitude in turbulent times
In the quiet moments of early morning, when the world slips into the liminal space between darkness and light, I find myself anchoring in gratitude. It’s a deliberate act — choosing to see beauty and hope despite the swirling uncertainties consuming our nation and our world at the moment.
Today, I have become profoundly aware of the simple miracle of breath. Each inhalation is a quiet reminder that life continues to flow through me, and that every day is both a gift and an offering — another opportunity to live, go forth and engage with the world. We seldom think about it, but our bodies are performing a quiet miracle in sustaining and pumping life through all of our wondrous biological systems, keeping us alive, moment by moment.
Sunlight begins to stream through my windows, painting the room in warm golden hues. Although this January morning brings arctic cold, the sky is a cloudless crystal blue today, outstretched across the heavens in pure possibility. In the kitchen, coffee begins to brew, its aroma filling the house with warmth, familiarity and comfort. Outside, a bird begins warbling its morning…
