Have you ever had someone close to you deny or contradict your memories or perceptions of an event, causing you to doubt your own reality? This tactic, known as gaslighting, is a common tool used by narcissists in order to manipulate and gain control over their targets. In this article, we’ll explore the definition and consequences of gaslighting, and provide tips on how to recognize and protect yourself from this insidious behavior.

Gaslighting is a manipulative tactic often used by individuals with narcissistic tendencies in order to gain control over others. It involves intentionally manipulating the truth or manipulating the perceptions and memories of the target in order to make them doubt their own reality.

The narcissist may do this by denying that certain events or conversations took place, or by twisting the facts in order to paint themselves in a more favorable light. They may also use gaslighting to deflect blame or responsibility for their own actions, or to manipulate the target into doubting their own…
