Last Thursday’s Meeting Recap

Great meeting, neighbors! Thanks for coming, and for bringing such a wonderful selection of pours, as usual. We uncorked some terrific reds and whites, and bless Hudson for the steady stream of Prosecco! We certainly needed the sustenance after the latest wild turkey report. Yikes!

For those members who couldn’t make the meeting, here’s what you missed:

First off, Calliope Banks gave this month’s rousing conversation starter: “It’s Not About You”. As we all know, the Banks’ afghan Tootsie recently had another encounter with a skunk. Calliope read an emotional journal entry to which we could all relate, about the guilt she and Nils feel at not wanting to hug and kiss Tootsie, in spite of vinegar baths, baking soda scrubs, and that humiliating buzz cut. She cautioned about the inclination to compensate with too many treats, and spoke honestly about the fear of letting her run free in the yard. Her reading sparked some lively conversation and inspired some truly “out of the crate” thinking.

Thank you, Calliope!

Next month’s special guest: Trapper Andy!! We all know Andy and his varmint-trapping prowess. But did you know he has a pet Starling that talks?! He’ll bring his little friend, and he’ll be ready to answer all your questions.

Until then, have a lovely, varmint-free month!
