Do you want to be a writer?

The first step is to overcome yourself and open the doors to your writing journey.

The price you pay?
Nothing. Writing is free!

The benefits?
You cannot foresee or imagine before you begin.

Here's how you begin:

1. The path is the goal

The best stories and articles are written one word at a time. You will only succeed one step at a time, with one article or story, as time allows.

You only have to write one word after the last word to make it to the end of the piece.

Relish each and every one of those steps. Consider it a privilege and an honour.

2. Listen to yourself

Pay heed to that writing impulse, it will guide you to the light. If the words want to flow - let them.

Put your pen on paper, your fingertips on the keyboard. You don't need anything else.

3. Let go

Don’t worry about editing and grammar until after you’ve written a substantial portion of your work.

You only write the story once, but you can edit as many times as you feel like.

4. Don’t look for validation

Forget about claps, followers and comments - just think about you, your words and the one person who may read, resonate and appreciate it.

That is the person you write for. Even if that person is you.

5. Be creative!

Experiment with different genres, niches and styles to find your inner voice. That is what works best for you, and your readers.

Be creative for its own sake. Forget about money, being published, being recognized. All of that will come in its own time.

That is, only if you start writing at some point.

Who am I?

I have written my entire adult life. I have written reports, legal briefs, articles, medium articles, and more.

Now, I’m working on my voice as a fiction writer and storyteller.

I use these time-tested techniques to make sure I don't cower before pen and paper, keyboard and screen.

I've used writing to heal myself and find my inner strength in the darkest of hours.

I’ve written to improve my communication with loved ones and, importantly, change the story I tell about myself to a positive one.

Who knows what you will use it for? I'm excited to find out!

If it's too difficult to write an article right now, just write a comment under here with any thoughts you feel like sharing.

I'll appreciate it because I appreciate you, and I'm curious to know more.

Don't wait till tomorrow, start now!
