It is a tough pill to swallow when you realize you hate your job but need the money.

I have friends who vouched on their insurance selling pursuits, consulting gigs, and other multi-level marketing efforts — but later went back to corporate.

You may have taken the job for the salary, benefits, or location, but now you are dreading every single day.

The good news is — you’re not alone.

A Gallup poll found that more than half of Americans are either “not engaged” or “actively disengaged” at work.

If you’re in this boat, here are several ways to cope.

Manage the horse

It can be nerve-wracking to speak up to your boss, but it is vital to communicate your concerns.

You do not need to splurge it all. You know — the boss is also a pawn. Anything you say at some point will be taken against you.

If you are overwhelmed or like you are not utilized to your fullest potential, schedule a meeting with your supervisor to discuss so that they have managed expectations.
