We Are All Immigrants In The U.S.
Immigration is what makes this country great and prosperous
If you think about it, we are a country of immigrants. It was founded by explorers from all over the world coming to this new land.
Our nation was a creation of a variety of immigration and colonization. The term “founded” is often associated with the European colonists who established permanent settlements, but it’s essential to recognize the broader context:
Did you know our “founding fathers” were not citizens of the United States? In fact, several of them were born in the American colonies that were not part of the United States as we know it. Some were born outside of the U.S. In fact, Alexander Hamilton was born in Charlestown, Nevis a British Caribbean Island. James Wilson was born in Scotland. Robert Morris and Thomas Paine were born in England.
At the time of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams were born in the American colonies, which were under British rule. This means the Founding Fathers were British subjects, not American citizens.
