We Could Try

We could live in rhyme

Instead of spending all this money on space
we could spend it on immortality
we’d need less kids
we could eat eternally
we could try to fly
we could love someone for a thousand years
we could meet another Mozart
another Charlie Chaplin
we could love our lives
we could die all the time
we could live in rhyme
we could not
we could live in verse
we do somehow
we could laugh
we could try
