The Bengal tiger’s unique color variation is responsible for its stunning beauty!

An estimated number of only 30 golden tigers currently exist in the wild. Therefore they are on the critically endangered list by IUCN.

Perhaps you’re familiar with the terms strawberry tigers and golden tabby tigers.

What makes this unique golden coloration?

Research scientists reveal it is due to a combination of genetic factors. The pale golden & red-brown stripes are a color variation caused by a recessive trait referred to as ‘wideband,’ which affects the production of the hair growth cycle.

In Captivity, researchers have traced the offspring son of a part-white Amur tiger as the common ancestor of all white tigers in North America.
