What Happened to Everyone?
Realizing how fast time really flies
I recently had a conversation with my dad about getting older and (hopefully) wiser. We talked about how relationships change throughout your life, as your priorities shift.
My dad started talking about his recent 40th high school reunion. He described it as being transported back in time in a weird time warp, where everyone you went to high school with is suddenly older. When brought to this environment it becomes clear how much time has gone by since your youth. Looking around at my father’s aging classmates’ faces was a shock to him.
At that age, you can’t tell your classmates from their spouses. After a certain point, no one cares who was popular or if you talked in high school. Everyone is connected at the reminiscent memories and bond of attending the same school many years ago.
