What I Intend To Do With All My Medium Earnings

Look, it’s no secret that earnings are down on Medium for many writers — myself included.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m much to blame for lackluster earnings. I get paid significantly more in the freelance trenches, and the amount of work I’ve taken on leaves me less time for low-yield places like Medium.

Still, I like writing on Medium, so while my activity isn’t what it used to be, I still try to get in several articles per month. I like the practice. I like the audience. I enjoy reading other people’s works.

But where Medium used to pay my electric bill, now it pays for maybe a week’s worth of gas for my car.

If I’m lucky.

While I’m probably not going to change my approach to Medium at the moment, I have decided how to spend the little bit of money I make here.
