Is this real gold?
Yes, said our driver.

Isn’t he afraid? A lady asked while filming him.
He replied —
“God (Mahakaal, a form of Shiva) is there to protect him”.

Don’t you feel the heat? I asked
He replied—
“There is a fan kept specifically for cooling me down”.

(Although the fan looked like a drop in the ocean given its size & the distance at which it was kept).

When you see something unique, you are bound to have questions. A basic human nature. That’s what I am blessed with.

In Indore, there’s a place called Sarafa Bazaar where they sell jewelry during the day. But at night, it transforms into a food street.

This food street starts at 9:30 pm and stays open until 2 am. So, you can enjoy delicious food there late into the night!

Many YouTube shorts feature this guy, and like many others, I was also curious to see him in action. I wanted to know what he sells, and how he sells it. He was one of the reasons why I visited Sarafa Bazaar.

What He Sells

He sells Kulfi & it’s falooda.

It’s made by thickening milk, comes in various flavors like cardamom and mango, and is typically garnished with nuts.

Kulfi Falooda combines creamy kulfi with the delightful textures of vermicelli noodles, sweet rose syrup, basil seeds, and sometimes nuts, creating a rich and indulgent treat.

Selling Basics

How does selling take place?

You want something, and that something is offered by someone. When these 2 agree mutually, the transaction of goods & services takes place.

But what if numerous people are offering what you are looking for?
How do you decide which one to buy from?

You survey/gauge & then take a call on whom to go with based on your experience/knowledge.

Since you cannot go to each one & check their goods/services, the sellers attract buyers in numerous ways.

Coming to our Golden Guy

But first, let us discuss a bit about human behavior.

When people see something unique, they :

  • take a photo or make a video.
  • they share among friends & family.
  • some upload to social media with a story (like me).

When others see it & like it, they follow the above 2 steps. It becomes a loop & creates virality.

Now, it is evident that our golden guy is attracting people & you know the reason why.

With his looks, he is

  1. Making people make videos of him.
  2. Making people curious to know more about him.
  3. Making people talk about him rather than his product.

Now, people flock to his stall to see him in action & in turn have the kulfi/falooda as well.

Now, it’s up to the product which can make or break him.

What can we learn

Attraction!

If you have a product & want to sell it, you have to create an attraction either towards you or your product.

How would you do that?

By having your unique style, and viewpoint that you can share across the internet. This way, you might attract your type of people. But one thing’s guaranteed — if you don’t share, you won’t attract anyone for sure!

And once you attract your type, you can sell.

Just like I have a product i.e. a newsletter & I am attracting you by writing this article. If I write, there is a probability that you might subscribe but If I don’t, I have no chance!

The whole point of writing this piece would go in vain if you don’t subscribe now. (haha)
