Imagine your brain is a shared refrigerator at the end of the semester, and all those thoughts and worries weighing on your mind are the curdled milk, rancid cheese, and liquefied cucumbers in the refrigerator…then mindfulness is the rubber glove. , garbage bags and cleaning spray, it can help you clear out clutter and make your refrigerator and yourself spotless and shiny again.

Here are seven ways to start the process to ensure those fabled “best days of your life” actually become a reality.

1. First, breathe

Breathing is something you’ve been doing since birth, so it’s easy to take for granted. In fact, we rarely pay attention to our breathing, it just happens in the background. So take a moment to focus on your breathing. See how your chest rises and falls as you inhale and exhale, and try to push all thoughts out of your head as you inhale and exhale. Don’t worry if you can’t do it at first, it won’t be easy. But set aside some time each day to study your breathing, and over time, you’ll be able to let go of those thoughts for longer and longer.

2. Turn off Autopilot
