Be Courageous and Goal Oriented

While salespeople are not expected to act like Indiana Jones, we all must take risks to achieve our financial goals. Image from Wikimedia Commons.

Now that the new film, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, is playing in theaters, it’s an opportunity to reflect on the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark and uncover some valuable lessons that salespeople can learn.

Warning: This post contains spoilers about the 1981 movie. If you haven’t seen it, stop here and return after watching the film.

Overview:

The story is set in 1936, about three years before the start of World War II. The Nazis, in collaboration with archaeologist Dr. René Belloq (portrayed by Paul Freeman), are on a quest to find the Ark of the Covenant. They believe this legendary ancient artifact possesses powers that will make the German military invincible.

Indiana Jones, a respected archaeology professor and expert in occult knowledge (played by Harrison Ford), is recruited by intelligence agents from the U.S. Army. Their mission is to retrieve the Ark and bring it to the United States before it falls into the Nazis’ hands. Alongside Jones are Marion Ravenwood (played by Karen Allen), his girlfriend; Sallah (played by John Rhys-Davies), an excavator and old friend of Jones; and a cast of other characters who join them on an action-packed adventure filled with unexpected twists and turns.
