What The Will Smith Oscars Altercation Says About Our Society
Are we really that easily distracted?
Unless you have been off the grid the past 2 days, it appears that all everyone seems to be talking about right now is the incident that occurred at the Oscars.
The incident
For anyone unaware of what happened Chris Rock was presenting an award and doing what most presenters do at the Oscars, roasting the audience.
Unfortunately, he targeted Jada Pinkett-Smith’s shaven head. Now the issue with this is she has been suffering from Alopecia, which is an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss. She has been vocal about her struggle with Alopecia, which then prompted her to shave her head.
“Me and this alopecia are going to be friends.” –Jada Pinkett-Smith
So after the tactless joke about her hair, Will Smith jumped to his wife’s defense and walked up to the stage and punched Rock in the face.
