Iceland is a beautiful place but to better organize your trip it is good to keep in mind some information related to the weather to avoid wasting time and maximize travel in the land of ice.

Many tourists go during the summer for more bearable temperatures but they can hardly ever see the aurora given the few hours of darkness. Other tourists instead prefer to go to Iceland in the summer where the days become long at most 3 or 4 hours making the journey difficult and the darkness too present to visit the island.

Pros and cons of the sun period

The period that runs approximately from April to the end of September

During this period the balance between day and night is still very distinct even if in full summer the sun remains high for almost twenty hours a day, leaving room for night for only four hours.

Given the great and constant brightness, you can travel more and see the natural beauties offered by the panorama with a much better climate than in winter. The temperature remains cold but more bearable than the winter frost that begins to arrive in October.
