Book recommendation series #part 1

I always wanted to talk and write about the books I fell for. Being a versatile reader, who loves to read and try new things, I can’t decide on a single genre. So I am going to start talking about them now without waiting for the right time or right book anymore. For those who don’t know where to start, I would love to help with my suggestions.

For the first one, I would start with the thriller genre. The thriller is one of the genres I enjoy a lot, mostly because it keeps you engaged and on your toes. They help you pass the time and will not bore you. Honestly, it’s not easy to select one book from all of those I have read and loved. And it was especially difficult to choose from my two absolute thriller favorites which are “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie and “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides.

I decided to go with the classics first, as one can never go wrong with the classics. So the book I would recommend and love to talk about this time (without the spoiler of course!) would be “AND THEN THERE WERE NONE BY AGATHA CHRISTIE.”

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE BY AGATHA CHRISTIE

Agatha Christie is one of the authors who don’t need any introduction. She is the novelist queen who is famous for her thriller, mystery, and detective writing. Agatha created a suspenseful environment with her writing, that is one thing I appreciate and love about her books. She has written many books but my absolute favorite of her books is and probably always will be “And Then There Were None”.

This masterpiece will keep you engaged and guessing all the time. The story this masterpiece follows is about 10 strangers who were invited to a mysterious island owned by U. N. Owens. They don’t know each other and have their own stories and secrets. The story starts with all of them accepting the invitations.

But as they arrive at the mysterious island, they found that island is a solitary place and their host is nowhere to be found. As they start to settle down, they are each accused of heinous crimes.

Soon following the accusation, people start dying one after another. The island they are stuck at is an isolated place with no one else present; except these 10 people. But there is definitely something weird about all of this: the solitary island, missing owner, disturbing little china figures, and this weird poem in every room.

TEN LITTLE SOLDIER BOYS

Ten Little Soldier Boys went out to Dine, one choked his little self and then there were nine.

Nine Little Soldier Boys stayed up very late; One overslept himself and then there were eight.

Eight Little Soldier Boys traveling in Devon; One said he’d stay there and then there were seven.

Seven Little Soldier Boys chopping up sticks; One chopped himself in halves and then there were six.

Six Little Soldier Boys playing with a hive; A bumblebee stung one and then there were five.

Five Little Soldier Boys going through a door; One stubbed his toe and then there were four.

Four Little Soldier Boys going out to sea; A red herring swallowed one and then there were three.

Three Little Soldier Boys walking in the zoo; A big bear hugged one and then there were two.

Two Little Soldier Boys sitting in the sun; One got frizzled up and then there was One.

One Little Soldier Boy left all alone; He went and hanged himself and then there were none.

The story is built following the views, conversations, and inner thoughts of these guests. As they all suspect one other while murders keep happening. Will they figure out who is the killer? and why all these murders keep happening or will none of them be left alive? I recommend having your guesses regarding the murderer to make the book more interesting.

The next book for the thriller will be The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. Be ready to read if you wish to discuss that or sit tight for my views on the book before starting.
