A short poem

You look at the moonlit sky

singing a refugee’s lullaby.

Weaving dreams of home, a distant shore,

In your journey of hope, you seek so much more.

You fled the land that was once your home.

Now only in your memories as everything feels unknown.

Passing through new lands, you walk alone,

Finding solitude as the only tone.

Carrying the weight of dreams on your back,

Crossing boundaries and avoiding all kinds of cracks.

Each breath reminds you of strength and might,

Taking on a journey towards the hopeful light.

Looking for safety and a community to belong,

Amidst life’s chaos, may your heart stays strong.

The road might be rough and nights maybe cold,

Your spirit roars — a story of courage that unfolds.

In every footstep, a prayer is born,

Hoping the night be over soon, welcoming dawn.

The echoes of your past life is left behind,

A plethora of words you weave in your mind.

One day, you’ll find a place to thrive,

Where your dreams of a home and finding love will revive.

Till then, keep following your heart’s desire

Starting from scratch and rising high like fire.
