We are just days away from the US election, an election that can redefine US nationalism and internationalism. As you evaluate the choices, perhaps this article can shine a light on the past, present and the future.

To evaluate whether a Trump or Kamala Harris presidency is better for the U.S. and the world, it’s essential to look at key areas such as domestic policy, foreign relations, economic performance, and social stability under both Trump’s and Biden’s administrations, then project potential outcomes of either Trump’s return or Kamala Harris taking office.

Trump Administration (2017–2021):

Economic Performance:

  • Pros: The U.S. economy saw significant growth early in Trump’s term, with record-low unemployment before the pandemic, a strong stock market, and tax cuts that boosted corporate profits.
  • Cons: Trump’s economic policies were often criticized for increasing income inequality, adding $7 trillion to the national debt, and relying heavily on deregulation, which some argue undermined environmental and labor protections. The trade war with China, particularly the tariffs, hurt U.S. manufacturing and farming sectors.
