Why I Write Poetry on Medium

It’s pretty simple, really.
I write poetry because
I like it
and
most of it isn’t really poetry,
just lines broken-up
that don’t have to compete
with other writings
that are trying to stretch
their reading times
beyond what’s needed.
I wrote novels for awhile too
and they, too,
were too short.
