Why Isn’t Nike Undertaking Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility?
Governments around the world are looking at reducing garbage costs and improving the environment by reducing garbage.
Therefore, applying charges to the makers of running shoes for the number of running shoes found in the garbage and using that to reduce garbage costs.
These charges can be applied to cans of food, beer and soft drink bottles, food packaging, and all other forms of packaging.
All of these companies will have to wake up and design their products and packaging that’s recyclable or can feed or improve the output of garbage to power plants.
Grubs can be used to eat garbage and when they die. Be milled and turned into food and cardboard packaging. There will be limits on the number of times this cycle can be repeated and then it is Garbage to Power Plants.
Doing the above can then be promoted by Nike as being a good corporate citizen and by levering sustainability to improve its corporate social responsibility as part of corporate governance.
