WHY ON EARTH AM I ON MEDIUM?

I heard someone say “Medium.com is YouTube for writers” and here I am. I googled it and opened my first ever Medium account last week. Surprisingly I did not open it to write until today.

I usually write for myself. Having an opportunity to have some readers of my writing feels good. My busy work schedule as a doctor and family responsibilities do not allow me to write every day but the occasional writing helps me relax and open up my imagination.

My wife says that my hand-writing is awful (but then again, apparently all doctors are known for their terrible handwriting). Hence typing away on my laptop does not feel so bad, especially when I see my words appearing on screen in perfect fonts. Friends and family often ask me that often-asked question of what I would have chosen to work as if I hadn’t turned out to become a doctor. The question makes me wonder every time and I think of all the possible professions I think I would have enjoyed. Amongst those professions, the option of being a full-time writer almost always pops up to my mind as deeply alluring.

Leaving the day-dreaming aside, Medium hopefully should be a good way to enjoy my writing hobby. Or perhaps as we all like to say very often- “Only time will tell.”
