Ron DeSantis, often described as the “smart Trump,” is the missing link between a successful coup and the swarm of clueless insurrectionists who ransacked the Capitol Building on January 6th. The Florida Governor has already proven that he is both highly strategic and disciplined.
Like Trump, DeSantis has shown similar distain for American institutions, labeling bad media coverage as “fake,” politicizing public health issues, assailing higher institution for alleged indoctrination, and appointing his far-right lackeys to traditionally nonpartisan positions to further his extremist agenda.
In 2022, he endorsed and rallied for gubernatorial candidates Kari Lake of Arizona and Doug Mastriano of Pennsylvania — both stated they would outright reject future election results if it didn’t result in a Republican victory.
