Why You Ain’t Getting The Big Money

Imagine you are faced with an obstacle that you can’t seem to overcome, no matter what you do.

So you are on the verge of quitting.

You don’t know what else you can do. You don’t seem to have any more options.

The Total Uncertainty

And the total uncertainty of conquering this dilemma is overwhelming.

So what is your next step?

In Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill knew the propensity of negative thoughts that threaten to come between you and your dream.

Hill knew how easy it is to just give up and quit any time a problem comes up.

Stalling Dreams

Hill knew how easy it is to let your dream just stall out.

Hill said, “all negative thoughts serve as stimuli to your subconscious mind unless you master these impulses and give it more desirable food upon which it may feed.”

Hill explained, “If you fail to plant [healthy] desires in your subconscious mind,

Because of Your Neglect,

it will feed upon those thoughts that reach it as the result of your neglect.”

For, also according to Hill, every day “all manner of thought impulses … are reaching your subconscious mind, without your knowledge.” Both negative and positive thoughts are influencing your subconscious every minute of the day.

Influence of Infiltration

And the real battle you face is trying to lessen the infiltration that negative thoughts have on your subconscious, as well as on your behavior.

Because the truth is, says Hill, everything in life begins as a thought. And the only way to control your thoughts is using your imagination to direct your thought impulses into worthy goals.

Between You and Big Money

Tony Robins says, practicing “self-analysis will readily disclose what has been standing between you and ‘the big money’ in the past.”

Especially what’s coming between you and your creating plans and purposes that create success in your chosen occupation.

Because if we don’t have a purpose in life, negatives often seem to involuntarily take over our mind and our life.

The Injection

Therefore, it is up to us each to intentionally and consciously ‘inject’ the positive through the principle of autosuggestion, to innoculate the thought impulses we choose.

It is up to us to intentionally choose what is going into our mind. It is up to us to prepare ourselves by influencing and controlling our ’inner audience,’ or our subconscious mind, so we transform our desires into their physical form.

Beginning From Scratch

And despite what the successes of most people look like, the truth is … all humans, including the greatest of us, “began at scratch, with nothing to give in return for riches except THOUGHTS, IDEAS, AND ORGANIZED PLANS.”

And, as Hill also reports, none of the men in any master mind group needs every idea that comes to them. But they often do need to meet with other minds, and read and study what others have done.

Finding One Idea

Just to find one idea, plan, or suggestion that inspires them to move toward their goals.

For, Tony Robbins says, in his book, Money, Master the Game: 7 Simple Steps To Financial Freedom<
“the problem is, when you have this huge goal in your head — if in your gut you don’t believe it’s going to happen — your brain rejects it.”

“It’s like living a lie.”

Robbins explains, “The truth is, you’ll never make it happen until it sinks deep into your subconscious — the part of your mind so powerful that it makes your heartbeat 100,000 times a day without your ever having to think about it.”

The Amazing Protector

And that is what Robbins calls “The amazing protector of life, your subconscious mind.”

Robbins also says, “Ideas keep trying to lodge in your head’ and often those ideas defy your hopes and dreams. For your upper, conscious brain is filled with doubts, insecurities, and … yes …

The Source of Uncertainties

uncertainties. It “quickly rejects the big idea and bounces it back out into space like a tennis ball.” Or like a lost drone.

“But,” says Robbins, “if you resolve within yourself the sense of absolute certainty that ‘I’m going to do this!’…

and then you start to build a plan — something extraordinary happens. You begin to develop the certainty you can actually achieve it.

Building Confidence

“And with newfound confidence, you suddenly see there is a way to get it done.”

Then you’ll often find a model, find someone who’s already achieving what you’re after, someone who has already taken massive action.

Someone you can follow.

Because, says Robbins, “the goal seeps down into your subconscious and it goes to work to make your dream a reality.”

The Magic

“That’s when the magic happens.”

Most people think and talk about their big ideas … but never act on them. Simply because “psychologically they don’t have certainty that they can do it,” says Robbins.

“Certainty is the first human need that influences our behavior or actions,” continues Robbins.

“Fact. If you’ve failed to act in your financial world, it’s partly because you’re uncertain, you’re unsure as to what is right or wrong and which approach will succeed or fail.”

A Little Boost

And sometimes, all you need is a little boost. Or someone to take some time and “walk you through with clarity.”

“With uncertainty,” says Robbins, “we default to doing nothing or at least procrastinating. We put off until tomorrow what we need to do today.”

And we usually don’t realize that, according to Robbins, “the ultimate truth: life is not about money …”

Money and Emotion

it’s about emotion.
The real goal is to have the lifestyle you want, not the things.”

Robbins explains that accumulating possessions is not the goal any more than hoarding dollars.

”Our worth is not measured by the weight of our bank accounts but, rather, by the weight of our souls.”

What We’re Really After

Robbins continues, ”The path to money, the places money can take us, the time and freedom and opportunity money can bring,” admits Robbins, “[is] what we’re really after.”

And according to Hill, “There is a difference between wishing for a thing and being ready to receive it. No one is ready for a thing, until he believes he can acquire it.”

Getting Ready To Get What You Want

And to get ready to get what you want, Hill states, the one thing you are to do every day is “write out a statement of your major purpose.”

Hill says your definite chief aim must be committed to memory, repeated aloud, day after day, until these words have reached your subconscious mind.

For your “state of mind must be belief, not mere hope or wish.”

Stepping Stones

Yet as Hill points out, our minds often sets up all kinds of limitations. When in fact, we need to see our handicaps as stepping stones on the path of some worthy goal.

Hill advises, “Convince the subconscious mind that you believe that you will receive that for which you ask, and it will act upon that belief.” Your subconscious mind passes your desire back to you as the faith, the certainty of definite plans that lead to what you really want.

Repeating Affirmations Builds Certainty

And the only thing stopping you is your reluctance to repeat the affirmations that will allow the development of your faith.

And your certainty.

For your affirmations convey your desires onto your subconscious mind through repetition. And your affirmations are translated into the physical or monetary equivalent of what you desire …

The State Of Belief

when you add a state of expectancy or belief that your desire will be transformed into reality.

“Any idea, plan, or purpose may be placed in the mind through repetition of thought,” says Hill. But your thoughts must be mixed with emotion. Your dreams about getting what you want must be driven with intense passion and certainty of belief. And that belief is the element that becomes an all-consuming obsession.

The Power Of Emotion

“Plain, unemotional words do not influence the subconscious mind,” Hill reveals. “You will get no appreciable results until you learn to reach your subconscious mind with thoughts, or spoken words which have been well emotionalized with belief.”

And hopes and dreams, like everything else, have a price.

The Price of a Dream

The price of your ability to influence your subconscious mind is “everlasting persistence in applying these principles.” And paying your dues every day by demonstrating your faith.

For “faith is the strongest, and most productive of the emotions.”

A Man With Determination

Hill talks about a man named Edwin C. Barnes who intensely desired to work alongside Thomas Edison. But he didn’t have the money to pay for his trip to Orange, New Jersey, where Edison lived.

Yet Barnes was so determined to work with Edison that he rode a freight train to get there.

And Edison finally gave Barnes a chance because Edison recognized Barnes was a man of determination. Barnes convinced Edison by his behavior that he was determined to get what he wanted,
Edison was convinced by Barnes’ willingness to stake his entire future on Edison’s decision.

For Barnes had set a goal in his mind and made that goal “a definite major purpose.”

Intensified Desire

Barnes was constantly intensifying his desire to achieve that goal by continuously reminding himself of what he wanted.

Therefore, he was psychologically ready to realize that goal. He continuously enflamed his inner determination to make that dream came true.

Winning Over Uncertainty

That was how Barnes won his fight with uncertainty. Because every setback, every problem, every adversity was met with his all-consuming obsession to realize his dream.

Every misfortune was seen as only a temporary defeat.

Barnes never entertained the thought in his mind that he couldn’t overcome any struggle.

The Master Mind

Hill’s research revealed the antidote for uncertainty is to put into practice the Master Mind principle: the forming of a study club consisting of any desired number of “people who are friendly and harmonious” to the vision you dream of.

Your master mind should meet regularly and should engage in the reading of one chapter of Hill’s book (or any book that is inspirational.)

Tapping Into Knowledge

Then you should discuss what was read and each member should write down his or her ideas.

The goal, says Hill, is that each member should “tap new sources of knowledge in his (or her) own mind as well as acquire knowledge of priceless value FROM EVERY OTHER PERSON PRESENT.”

Robbins says that you must take the time to

Master the Fundamentals

master the fundamentals that will set you free. “Mastery means going deep…. True mastery requires three levels.” says Robbins..

Level One…

is understanding from a cognitional level. But “information by itself is not valuable. It’s only the first step.

Level Two …

You start getting real value when you reach the second level: emotional mastery.” The second level is where you have heard something repeated enough times that, according to Robbins, “it’s stimulated enough feelings inside you — desires, hungers, fears, concerns — that now you become conscious and capable of using what you learned.”

Level Three

And the third level is “the ultimate mastery” [or] physical mastery.

That’s where “you don’t have to think about what you do; your actions are second nature.” Simply because of your “consistent repetition.”

Level of Certainty

You have now reached the level of certainty, the level where you can tell the difference between master and amateur. “And mastery requires this level of repetition. With each repetition you must learn more,” says Robbins

You learn the techniques that “mark out key ideas and [teach you] to build knowledge into your mind, body, and spirit so that action becomes automatic. That’s when you’ll start seeing results and reaping the rewards that you desire and deserve.”

Worth the Money

Mastery is your “clos[ing] the gap between where you are now and where you truly want to be.”
