As a marketing professor, I often have students come to me for advice on responding to their first interview. They are well prepared, and they put a lot of work into creating an appealing resume. When we discuss the interview, one thing we typically focus on is how to improve their brand and how to develop narratives.

Personal branding is one of the best ways to get your name out there and make yourself stand out from the crowd. Personal brands have become increasingly important in today’s world as it becomes harder for job seekers to distinguish themselves from everyone else who has applied for their desired position. In this post, we will discuss how telling stories can help develop a personal brand.

The concept of branding is one of the most relevant terms in marketing; the idea to associate a product or service with a specific meaning in the mind of the customers is something that all companies strive for. Personal branding is no different, and its goal is to make people think of you in a certain way when they hear your name or see your picture; this is more relevant for job seekers that need to brand themselves before and during the interview.
