Wish You Were Here
Limerence is an intense, obsessive emotional attachment to someone who may not reciprocate those feelings, often leading to emotional turmoil.
From a café corner in Barcelona,
where coffee tastes sweetly of dreams,
and Las Ramblas share a thousand tales
of sublime passions and artists of yore.
I pen this poem on a sorrowful parchment
about your wild and inexplicable departure,
while the Sagrada Família watches
the slow demise of the twilight.
Wish you were here,
to vanish
my apathy and my woe,
for through our eyes
here we would perceive in every street, in every square,
the reflection of the love we carried within,
now, all these distances seem trivial,
and every monument is a testament to what we were,
of the journeys we can share again.
Until then, this postcard
is but a provisional place,
for the adventures we will live,
and the memories we will create.
Wish you were here,
I miss you so much,
truly, deeply,
As always before.
