In general, when you are faced with a problem, you are tempted to think of an immediate solution that you rush to implement. Just because a possible solution immediately comes to mind doesn’t mean it’s the best one.

Consider a variety of possible solutions before choosing the best one.

1. Be receptive

  • Ask for suggestions from those involved in the problem — people who are trying to solve the situation and will be involved in implementing the solution.
  • Call on experts within the company (or outside the company, if appropriate) to benefit from their experience and knowledge.

2. Be creative

  • People are more creative than they think-By tapping into this hidden power, we will discover innovative concepts that could solve our problems.
  • Determine the best solution-After several alternatives have been developed, weigh up all the factors and decide which is the most suitable.

PS: To do this, you need to review the problem and establish what criteria your chosen solution should meet if you want the problem to be solved.

3. Draw up a list of the most important points for solving the problem

  • These may include :

a)maximum expenses

b) deadlines

c) staffing requirements

d) use of other resources

PS: Then list the points that are not essential, but which make the chosen solution better than relying on the essential points alone.

4. List points that are not essential but make the chosen solution better than relying only on the essentials.

a) Attitude

  • Once the decision is made, put it into practice.
  • Each person involved in implementing the solution needs to be given the tasks, resources need to be gathered, and finally action can be started.

b) Follow-up

  • There are situations where the type of problem involved requires a solution to which the company has to make a longer-term commitment (e.g. moving to a new location)
  1. If the chosen solution does not work, there is little you can do to save the situation.

-Therefore, in such situations, the problem needs to be analysed very carefully.

2. When putting such a solution into practice, ask yourself, “How long will it take to determine if the solution works?”

  • Then set an appropriate date for follow-up.
  • -Then you will check what has happened and if the problem has not been solved, abandon the solution and choose another option.

PS: There’s no point in insisting on an ineffective solution when there are other alternatives you can try.
