Words Have Power Over Matter?

Do our words affect the physical world?

It's mind over matter, that's what allows us to take that ice bath, climb Everest, run that marathon, or complete that Seal training course.

Could it be that words have power over matter?

I wish smiling made us thin; I am sure we would see a lot more people doing it, myself included.
