There’s always going to be someone who gets offended by what you’re saying.

Even if it’s the most simple thing.

If I say that the sun is yellow, someone might say no, it’s white.

If I say the Earth is round, someone would say no the Earth is flat.

If I say the sky is blue someone might say no, it’s sometimes red.

There’s always going to be someone who sees a problem with what you’re saying.

So if you try to try to make everyone happy, at the end of the day, no one is happy.

I’ve heard of this one story about a man, his son and his donkey.

He was taking the donkey with him and someone said, what’s the point of having a donkey if you don’t ride it?

So then he puts his son on the donkey and starts walking.

Then a group says, “Look at that boy, he’s so selfish.”

“He rides the donkey while he makes his father walk.”

So then the Father and the Son switch places.

Then a group of men see the father.

They say “He’s so selfish. He’s riding the donkey while his son walks.”

So, the two of them ride the donkey.

Then someone says, “Oh, look at that son and father.”

“They are torturing the poor donkey by riding it”.

So then they carry the donkey, and then some other people start laughing at them.

Then at some point, they were crossing a bridge with the donkey and the donkey fell into the water.

In the end, the donkey died, so at the end of the day, they made no one happy because they tried to please everyone.

So, who should you please?

That’s a question for you to answer.

The people I’m looking to please are not the same as the people you’re looking to please.

A company can’t produce every product.

And if they tried they wouldn’t be the best in any category

A person can’t please everyone.

And if they tried they would not be successful in pleasing any single individual.

If you’re trying to please everyone, it means you’re changing your beliefs to fit what the other person believes in.

If you don’t firmly stand for anything, you’ll be persuaded by everything.

You can’t please everyone, because everyone is different.

But you can please some people.

Being authentic and speaking what you believe will make some people hate you, and some people love you.

Now you’ve repelled the people who don’t like you, you can focus on the people whose beliefs line up with yours.

Those are the people who should please.

Conclusion

  • You can’t please everyone
  • Trying to please everyone makes you please no one
  • Only please the people whose beliefs are in line with yours
