In life, we get so many things backward.

Take, for example, how we are programmed to want things we don’t really need. That’s why an entire industry exists around manipulating us into buying products, services, and stupid sh*t.

As children, we watch other children on TV and our tablets play with better toys, making us envious of what we don’t have. Of course, if our parents couldn’t afford the hot new toy, we’re deemed losers by our friends and other school-age kids.

And this desire and struggle carry over into adulthood.

Why, though?

Because society projects an image unto us.

So, it only makes sense that people conform to society’s expectations of how they should live as a means of conforming to its norms.

They buy things they believe they need or go into debt to get them.

But there’s a problem with this way of thinking and acting. And it’s this.
