In a small town beautifully sprawled along the riverbank lived a human teenager named Yura. Yura came from a troubled family where her parents, Ara and Amar, had separated years ago after an inevitable conflict. Nevertheless, Yura grew up to be a cheerful and loving child.

Every day, Yura acted as the bridge between Ara and Amar. She delivered messages, conveying both good and bad news from one parent to the other. Yura became their eyes and ears, a meeting point amidst the darkness of their separation.

Yet behind her ever-present smile, Yura carried a heavy burden. She felt like a string that was too long and too fragile to support two pillars that had already cracked. Sometimes, when Ara and Amar argued through the messages she delivered, Yura felt like she was in the midst of a raging storm without being able to protect herself.

One day, Yura delivered a message from Ara to Amar. Its contents were filled with disappointment and pent-up anger. Amar, tired of the endless conflict, decided to end communication with Ara. He asked Yura not to deliver any more messages from her mother to him.

While most children might have felt sad or confused, Yura felt relieved. She no longer felt like a string being pulled from both ends. Yura felt as if a burden she had carried since childhood had finally lessened. Though she still loved her parents wholeheartedly, she realized that no longer being the conduit for endless conflict was liberating.

As the sunset reflected golden hues on the river’s surface, Yura sat alone on its banks. She contemplated the role she had played since childhood, as the bridge that had now been severed. But in her heart, Yura knew that the breaking of that bridge brought peace to her. She understood that even though her parents’ relationship had ended, the love and affection that once existed still flowed within her, like a river that never ceases to flow into the vast sea.

“In her decision, Yura found freedom and peace. Like a river that continues to flow, our love and steadfastness will carry us through every twist of life.”
