What is the world’s favourite color? Chances are it’s teal (bluey-green), according to global research. British paper specialist GF Smith announced that the world’s favourite colour is ‘Marrs green”, a vivid green-blue, unveiled with an explosion of paper helicopters over Hull.

This vivid green-blue was found to be the most popular shade worldwide. Marrs Green is named after Annie Marrs. He said that The colour was inspired by the landscape that surrounds him at home in Scotland.

Marrs green is the vivid blue-green — or green-blue — that we might otherwise call teal. The color is said to be popular because it reminds people to reconnect with the natural world.

Colour psychologist Karen Haller says that teal conveys trustworthiness and sophistication. It’s a combination between the calming effects of blue and the balancing qualities of green, and is ideal in spaces where you wish to regain equilibrium after a busy day.
