A Day by the Sea
— as you cry me a river.
Ocean breezes above the sand under feet
of crustaceans and me.
Tiny grains of the shore warm the cold
inside of the only being along this coast.
I stare over yonder—
over the calm sea.
Waves drifting near and afar,
the sound relieves my scars.
The wretched heart loosens
with each splash of water.
Though tears will show in the sand,
the sea washes them away.
You can cry me a river
and I cry you an ocean:
as I spend my day
by the sea of tears.
