Grok is a new type of AI that was created by xAI, Elon Musk’s AI startup company. On November 4, xAI has officially announced Grok and they’re updating it day by day.

xAI warned us about the humor Grok has. They stated “Grok is designed to answer questions with a bit of wit and has a rebellious streak, so please don’t use it if you hate humor!”

Grok is developed to answer more detailed questions with a higher chance of accuracy. It’s intended to answer any type of questions, even the ones that are rejected by most other AI systems.

The most important part is, Grok has real-time knowledge of the world via X ( new Twitter ). As you might know, ChatGPT can answer to questions that its answer is not later than January 2022.

Why are they developing Grok?

According to x.AI’s official website, they have 2 reasons.

  1. They aim to get feedback and ensure they’re building AI to benefit humanity.
  2. They aim to empower research and innovation.

Additionally, many companies are trying to create a more powerful AI model to answer questions that are nearly impossible to answer (unsolved equations and the secrets of the universe. ) These improvements are the key to answering some critical questions about our universe, which will benefit the humanity more than ever. However, with every development, people fear more about AI's ethics. Many don’t use AI for its intended purpose, and humans have started to learn less by using AI.

Personal thoughts

In my opinion, companies should not release this kind of developed artificial intelligence model to the public (especially at the first stage) because many people are not aware of the ethics of artificial intelligence, and as I stated above, humans have started to learn less because “there’s always a shorter path”. This point of view causes humans to become lazier and more unaware of real-world events.

However, even though people use AI for evil purposes, AI models like Grok will significantly benefit humanity by solving unsolved problems. Therefore, I highly support the development of artificial intelligence under certain circumstances.
