OpenAI Interface — ChatGPT

ChatGPT, an AI-powered language model developed by OpenAI, capable of generating human-like text based on the context and past conversations is a recent technological breakthrough that is being used by a vast number of people throughout the world. Its reach is high and people are very much used to it as they are using ChatGPT even for very small and daily tasks like emailing.

Yes, it’s true. When ChatGPT was introduced, maybe within one month of its introduction, I saw one of my colleagues was using ChatGPT to type a very normal email to be sent to another department regarding an assignment. It was a very common email that we usually send on a regular basis across different departments and he was using ChatGPT unexpectedly that day to generate that specific email.

I was thinking why is that? What were we using to type these kinds of emails before the emergence of these AI tools??? Why suddenly people need to use this tool for this very common day-to-day task?

Because people got addicted. I am not telling you that ChatGPT or any other AI tool is bad. NO!!! Not at all. I am also from the Information Technology background and I know the importance of the introduction of these kinds of tools and techniques in the modern world. These AI tools are introduced to help people in solving the difficult tasks or projects and of course they are helping us tremendously in different sectors. But it is the humans who are becoming lazy day by day with the addictive use of these tools and trying to rely completely on these tools to complete their work. People should know where to draw the line in between them and the technology. Each one of us should know how to effectively use these tools rather than just relying on them for everything.

Why do I say that?

Certain things are very normal to be done in our daily life. If we cannot do those simple daily activities even, then what are we gonna achieve in our lives? Do not overuse these technological advancements and destroy your life. These tools can help you only to some extent and after that you have to work anyhow by yourselves. If you got used to doing all your basic works with the help of these tools then how could you complete the larger works or projects that cannot be solved by these tools?

What about the human creativity? Certain works need to be done with creativity, especially writing. That creativity is specific to human beings. You can not expect creativity from AI tools. You will be losing your creativity or creative thinking if you continuously complete works with these AI tools.

Since we are talking about creativity, I would like to discuss further on a trending question in the society these days that Can ChatGPT (or any other AI tool) replace the human writers?

What do you think?

The answer is NOOOOOOO !!!!!

I asked this question to ChatGPT itself to see what it says and the answer it provided is the same. You can see the snapshot of the answer I got. I have just pasted a snap, not the complete answer.

ChatGPT answers the question whether ChatGPT can replace human writers

Now let us see why ChatGPT or any other AI tool cannot replace human writers.

Human writers are unique in their ways of writing. Each writer has a unique style in conveying the messages or things. And there will always be an originality in the written work along with a lot of emotions and experiences. But, a lot of writers started using these AI tools such as ChatGPT these days to complete their articles or blog posts but I would suggest not to do so. And the real writers who are passionate about writing will not be using these tools because we know that there won’t be any originality or feelings in those pieces of texts unless they are written by a human.

Writing is not just jotting down a few words on a piece of paper, it is an art, it is a creative work. It needs attention and creativity. You should think and plan a lot before writing something. Do you think that the AI generated text can be more appealing and useful to the users than the human written content where we use these kinds of mind processes to generate the content? Absolutely NO. The human written content will be of higher quality than the AI generated text. You can use tools to check your content’s grammar and styling but the creativity and quality relies on you, the person who writes the content.

Writing with experience is much different than the text generated by a trained AI. Certain situations and incidents that people go through in their lives help them to understand more about a context or a place or a person. These incidents and the experience will shape the way through which people see a particular topic or context. So when people write about that kind of a real world context or topic, they know how to write it properly without affecting the society or other people since they knew the original background story. But you cannot expect these kinds of things when you generate content using AI tools.

So the overall point I wished to convey here is that any AI tool like ChatGPT cannot replace human writers. Writers can use these tools to check and improve their writing style or grammatical flaws but they cannot be used to generate higher quality content.

Also stop being over obsessed with these technological advancements such as AI tools and start living your life in your own way. Yes you have to use these tools for certain situations for sure but what I suggest is do not over-rely on them. Use technology and the technological tools wisely and effectively without affecting or damaging your healthy human life.
