Emma
Awakening: The True World
Emma woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside her window overlooking a city street. She stretched and looked at the clock beside her bed, it was 6:30 AM. She had a full busy day ahead of her, with multiple meetings at work and plans to meet up with some friends later that evening. As she got ready for the day, Emma couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was off that day. She couldn’t quite put her finger on what it was, but she felt strange and disconnected from the world around her like she was living in a dream.
Emma made her way to work, her mind was a bit preoccupied with this feeling. As she sat in her first meeting, Emma found it very difficult to focus. The presentations and discussions seemed mundane and unimportant to her. She couldn’t shake off the feeling that there was something more out there, something bigger and more meaningful than her everyday life.
As the day went on, Emma’s feelings only intensified. Later, she met up with her friends, but even the conversations and laughter felt hollow. Emma couldn’t shake off the feeling that the world around her was not real. She went to bed that night, her mind whirring with thoughts and questions.
