My mind feels jammed like an old rusted machine whose gears are stuck to each other and due to high friction are not able to detach.

I try to lubricate my mind with various stimulations and distractions but it remains halted. I put on rock music, then folk music, then country music. I can sense some stirring inside but not quite enough to get it moving. I watch standup comedy clips and chuckle a few times but the gears don’t move.

I try to get active with my body, with some jumping jacks and push-ups. I enjoy my heart racing and my body sweating through my skin. I feel energetic physically. I feel my mind loosen up a bit but a longer workout doesn’t help it break out of its sloth.

I try meditation to unclog, in case something is stuck between the gears. That helps and my mind mildly responds and makes an effort to function. But it remains slow for quite some time. I manage the rest of my day with a slow mind.

A good night's sleep helps me reset my brain. The next day I feel fresh and mindful of my activities. I am at my peak performance and immensely enjoy my experiences for a few days until another trigger hits my mind and jams it again.
