👉🏼 How can you identify the glass ceiling in your career? 💼🔒
- You are a woman in or nearing your 40s 👩: You have a wealth of experience and knowledge that can be truly valuable to any organization and yet you are struggling to make any headway towards the right opportunities.
2. You feel stuck in a mid-management position while others seem to be progressing faster in their careers: You may initially start doubting yourself 🤔, then seek out a logical explanation 🧐, followed by making excuses for why you’re not moving forward 🤷♂️. However, one day you’ll realize that it’s not about you at all; you simply aren’t a priority to anyone 💔.
3. Management seems to be focusing on finding excuses rather than providing guidance and support: You may feel like you chose a bad time to bring up an issue 😕, but over time you may notice a pattern directed towards you. 🔍
4. You are being closely scrutinized and monitored 🕵️♂️🔍: You will be scared to be yourself and constantly watching your back.
5. Rather than focusing on the actual problem, the issue becomes about “you” 🤔: 🔍 Focusing on the problem at hand, the focus is on pointing figures at you 🙌 implying how you are creating unnecessary issues.
6. It seems like opportunities have dried up for you 💧💔 suddenly: It seems like your experience doesn’t match any of the available roles and there is nothing out there for you!
7. Unclear Expectations😒: Expectations from management are unclear and seeking clarification is pointless. 🔍😕
8. Burnout: You are experiencing constant pressure, and uncertainty, and feeling burned out quickly. 🤯
9. Undervalued: You are undervalued when it comes to both rewards and compensation.😓😰
We often fail to comprehend the tell-tale signs we experience. However, identifying the pattern sooner is better. To overcome difficult situations, it’s important to maintain self-belief, self-drive, and self-promotion. There’s likely nothing wrong with you, but rather the problem lies with others.
