How I was made to wait for an interview.
I reached the venue much before the intended time and I was greeted by the HR. I was told to be seated as she hurried back to her seat for some quick calls.
The interview was scheduled at 10 am and I was seated till 10.30 am. I was given a few test papers as part of the interview process. I was asked to finish the test in about 40 minutes.
I handed over my test papers much before the intended time and I was asked again to be seated for a while on the reason that the interviewer would take a while. I remained seated for a long period.
Around 1 pm, HR notified us that the interview process would shortly resume after the lunch break and that we were to return by 2 pm.
When I returned by 1.45 pm, I was again handed over another set of test papers. At this moment, I was convinced that it was a trick pulled on part of their behalf since the interviewer was not available on the intended time.
After another 45min passed by with the completion of the test papers conducted, I was seated again for about 30 minutes. With my patience wearing thin, all I could do was curse under my breath.
It was around 3 pm when the interviewer finally graced us with his presence and this time the interview lasted for about 10 minutes. There were a couple of technical questions followed by a couple of general questions.
When I exited the room, the HR reached out to me, and well again, I was told to remain seated for my next round.
I sat there for another 15 minutes. I was finally called in for the last round and again the entire interview ran for about 10min followed by no technical questions and only general questions.
When the final round ended it was 4 pm.
If the agenda was to test us on our patience, well they succeeded, and if not then the lack of conduct of the interview was miserable in itself.
I was hoping to have made the final cut but I received no calls confirming the same and neither did my fellow mates.
Hey, thanks for reading.
Take care of yourselves. Always!
I’ll see you soon :)
