“Whatever you’re meant to do, do it now. The conditions are impossible” — Doris Lessing.

Have you ever found yourself waiting for the perfect moment to pursue your dreams, only to realize that the ideal moment never comes?

Do you feel held back by circumstances that seem insurmountable, wondering if you’ll ever be able to turn your aspirations into reality? You’re not alone.

We’ve all been there at some point or another, paralyzed by fear, doubt, or uncertainty. But what if I told you that the conditions will never be perfect? That the obstacles will never fully disappear? And that the only way to truly make progress is to take action now, despite the impossibility of it all.

I had always waited to write when I perfected my writing skills but that never came or never will. There will be new things to learn .

But before this, I started delaying things and became more lazy as days passed. I had always had this fear of Rejection. That stopped me from doing things and I was just stuck between daydreaming about it.

Suddenly, someday while scrolling Pinterest I read this quote “ Whatever you’re meant to do, do it now. The conditions are impossible” — Doris Lessing and it somewhere affected me.

So here are the things I did to cope with PROCRASTINATION:

Setting timely goals: You have to set time limits to your goals. When you have limited time you try to complete it as fast as possible so setting a time limit plays a crucial role in achieving your goals.

For instance: you always start studying a week before the exam or the night before the exam because you have limited time and you don’t study a month or in starting of the semester because you think you have a lot of time to complete your studies.

Having a planned day: I always used to have a lot of things on my plate but I was always confused about what should I do first or what was more important and ended up doing absolutely nothing and wasting my day, but then I started listing down things I have to do and sorting out my priorities and hence when I sit now I have a planner ready that what things I have to do today or in this week.

Remove distractions: So it has been a month since I have uninstalled my Instagram and I am telling you have life is very progressing now. I can dedicate all my time to reading books, learning new skills, and trying new things out there which help me take baby steps towards my goals.

So I am not saying that removing everything at once but try taking things slowly and putting timers if you want but it’s a very important step that will help you be productive.

In conclusion, procrastination is a common obstacle that can hold us back from achieving our goals and realizing our potential.

However, by understanding the underlying reasons for our procrastination and implementing effective strategies to overcome it, we can break free from the cycle of delay and distraction.

As Amelia Earhart once said, “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.

So, take that first step, make the decision to act, and watch your goals become a reality. Remember, overcoming procrastination is a journey, not a destination, and be patient and compassionate with yourself along the way.
