India is a democratic nation and elections are an essential part of this country. The central and state governments are elected solely based on these elections. Since the 2000s, India has relied on electronic voting machines (EVM) for all its elections. Before that in the last century, paper ballots were in use. Since the pandemic has changed the world, India has been looking for an election alternative that can help voters to cast their votes from the comfort of their houses without going to voting booths. There comes the idea of Mobile Voting.

What is Mobile Voting?

Mobile Voting or Online election is a voting technology that happens through the internet. The entire process is technology-based where voters can cast their votes through a voting app. It makes the election procedures less confusing and better executed. Apart from the governments, many small or large-scale private companies are adopting Mobile Voting for their office elections. Slowly but steadily this new age technology of voting is making its ground in India.

3 Important Reasons Why Mobile Voting is Secure:

Use of Newest Technology:

In this modern world, technology has been shaping the future for us. The use of advanced technology in every sector is taking humankind to the next level. The kind of technologies that have been used to develop these voting apps are fully upgraded and provide full security and privacy to the voters. More Privacy for Voters:

General elections where the voters cast votes through EVMs are sometimes get invaded by various political parties. The privacy of voters gets compromised and it affects the results of the votes. But with Mobile Voting, the entire process can happen without any outside influence. Voters will vote from the comfort of their own houses, making the process completely private and secure for the voters.

Voting Authentication:

National elections have always suffered because of fake votes. Voters have personally experienced this problem and it has created a lot of problems. But with Online election technology, the number of fake votes can be easily reduced. As the entire process happens through the internet with proper OTP authentication and AADHAAR details, it can easily be said that the process would definitely decrease the number of fake votes.

There are a few problems with Mobile Voting also, including the trust issue among older generations, the problem of total digitalization in India, the cost of internet packages, etc. But considering everything, it can be said that India will definitely resolve these problems within a few years and a complete online election can easily take place in the near future.
