50,000 People

This is how many people Larry King interviewed over the course of his career.

That is simply LEGENDARY!

His career spans six decades, with 25 years hosting Larry King Live on CNN on which he interviewed a host of the most famous political leaders, celebrities, and sports professionals of our time.

At its peak, his show brought in 1.5 million viewers every night, and when he hosted the final episode airing in 2010, it had been the longest-running show ever hosted by one person.

His Given Name was Not King

I thought this was an interesting tidbit that I found out from researching him to write this story.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York as Lawrence Harvey Zeiger in 1933, one of two children born to Jennie (Gitlitz) and Aaron Zeiger (who passed away when Larry was 9).

Larry changed his last name to King in 1957 after moving to Miami to begin an on-air career as a disc jockey.
