Quiet Love — Poem 06/13/2023
Affection without announcement…
I just happened to stumble upon this poem that I wrote last year. It was a pleasant surprise.
I totally forgot I wrote this, but rather interesting that I wrote a poem with a similar theme more than a year later.
Sometimes we think about how love can feel so wild, so exciting, so tumultuous even.
But other times, it has a quite different feeling altogether…
Quiet Love
There it is
That quiet love
Warm, solid, resolute
It just is
And was
And will be
Appearing new
Feeling old
Like it was always there
But has just been reawakened
From a long slumber
It just rests there quietly
Unhampered by life’s sways and sags
Tranquil
Calm on the surface
Reaching to the depths beneath.
To some, such a love might feel boring. They might wonder: Where are the butterflies and fireworks?!
