Earthquakes are always happening somewhere every day.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) estimates that 500,000 detectable earthquakes occur in the world each year. This translates in more than 1,200 earthquakes per day and almost 60 per hour.

On the 6th of February 2023, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Turkey and Syria followed by a magnitude 7.7 earthquake in the space of 12 hours. Countless lives have been lost and the quake left a horrendous path of destruction.

Why does this affect your life? It will affect you if you live in a seismic area and also if you don’t. Let me explain to you why.
